I teach a variety of high school English and science courses. For the 2011-2012 school year, I’m teaching the following courses:
British Literature is for juniors and seniors. We conduct a chronological study of British literature beginning with the Anglo-Saxon period and moving through modern British literature, incorporating novels into our study of shorter works (poems, essays, stories).

English 10 is for sophomores. We spend 1st semester studying comprehensive grammar, and then we spend 2nd semester studying literature by incorporating a study of shorter works (poems, essays, stories) into our year-long exploration of selected novels.

English 9 is for freshmen. We split our time between a study of comprehensive grammar and literature (poems, essays, stories, selected novels).

Chemistry is for juniors and seniors, and requires Algebra I as a prerequisite. Our study hinges around the periodic table. We explore its history and some foundational concepts leading up to it; then we use the information provided by the periodic table to explore chemical interactions and concepts. We also spend significant time conducting experiments and laboratory work.

Computer Applications is an elective course for freshmen through seniors. The course is a project-oriented exploration of Microsoft Office programs: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher.
