WELCOME to the WARRIOR ALUMNI
News & Events Page

Alumni Weekend - On Saturday, June 28th, 2014 at 10:00am, we enjoyed our annual Alumni & Friends Brunch Event.  Held in conjunction with Fourth Baptist Church's Freedom Celebration Sunday Patriotic Church Service and Picnic Lunch, this change of schedule allowed some of our out-of-town alumni to coordinate this with their summer vacation plans. We were pleased to have Rear Admiral Kenneth J. Iverson (see bio below) and his wife, Karen Iverson, former FBCS teacher, as our special speakers this year.

Stay tuned for details about the next Alumni event!
Our school's 50th Anniversary Event for 2016 is already in the works!

What was the Brunch like?

Jan. 19-20, 2013

The Alumni and Friends Brunch was well attended again this year.  With just under 300 tickets sold, Mr. Bob Hazard reminisced about the “old days” and we had some good laughs in the process.  Music was provided by some of our current Fourth students and I spoke about what was happening at school this year.  We were able to give out a ton of good books, donated by Bethany House Publishers, and we had a number of prizes from area restaurants and shops.   We also had some neat items come in for our silent auction, which was bigger and better than last year.  It was a great weekend and a fun time as we had a number of new alumni attend the event.

As a result of the event, about $10,507.00 was donated toward the Karen Burns Scholarship Fund.  My hope continues to be that we can build that fund in the coming months and years.  Of that amount, $1,556.00 was brought in from the silent auction at the event.  Ticket sales for the brunch totaled $1,128.00 and the expenses for the event were only $1,642.00.  We appreciated all the donations that came in for this event.  We have used monies from this fund, but we are trying not to use all of it.  As donations continue to come in, we are hoping to build the fund up so that we can get to a place where interest income would be the only draw from it.  Your continued support and giving will help us reach our goals in the coming years.  We have not yet determined what draw we will need to take out of the fund to help cover scholarships for the coming 2013-14 school year, but we will make that determination in May/June.  We praise the Lord for the money donated and are grateful to you for your support in this endeavor.  If you are not currently active in supporting the scholarship effort, would you consider a small monthly donation or annual donation?  Currently, about 35 students benefitted from receiving some percentage of scholarship and we gave out around $53,000 in scholarship awards this year.
